“The LWM strategy is a very intuitively intelligent approach to stock market investing. I particularly like the emphasis on buying undervalued, tangible assets and the strength of the analysis that underpins the investment process.”
Beijing / London
We live in a globalised investment world, in which many companies have supply chains, assemblage points, distribution operations and end markets spread over multiple continents. In order to really understand how companies operate in such an environment, it is vital for an investment management team to have a truly global outlook.
With offices in Beijing and London and a team hailing from four different continents, we incorporate a tremendous range of perspectives that provides key advantages to our investors. Our investment management team is based in Beijing, which gives us deeper insight into Asian markets, as well as issues affecting manufacturing and supply for companies the world over.
Further, as value investors, we’re not worried about being “the first to know”. Reacting with lightning speed to the latest market rumour is as often a recipe for disaster as it is for success. Value investing is about carefully assessing the strengths and weaknesses of a company’s operations, the value of its assets and how global events are impacting upon its business, before making a decision as whether to buy or sell that company’s shares. Maintaining some distance from the vast volume of inconsequential noise generated by the media in more traditional financial centres also helps us preserve objectivity when making the nuanced decisions required.
